Owners: Jim Terry & Andy Rogers
Location: Main St., Blue Ridge, GA
Existing Condition:
This building was a mismatch of log siding and cedar shingles in an outdated butterfly shed style roof. It was painted watermelon red and green.
Objective:
Create upscale look both inside and out.
Remove existing shed roof structure and replace with a gable roof structure to help shed water and resist roof rot.
Remove and replace shingles.
Repair water damage to roof.
Scope of Work Involved:
⌂ Remove all log siding and replace with
rough sawn vertical siding on all sides to
give a more uniform look.
⌂ Tear off all shingles, repair rotten
plywood and replace with new custom
slate-look shingles.
⌂ Installed poplar bark siding on all three
gables to dramatically enhance exterior
appearance.
⌂ Cased out (covered) all existing green
beams with new rough sawn pine.
⌂ For a finishing touch, applied solid color
stain to all wood.
⌂ On the inside, we used 4 x 10 beams to
create a vaulted ceiling. We then custom
stained the ceiling and walls to match
the existing structure.
The owners did a wonderful job picking out the finishing touches that included a new set of wood doors and a large beautiful outdoor lantern to cast a beautiful soft glow around the entrance. |
